Kingsgate Animal Hospital has the ability to run many different tests at our facility, including bloodwork, heartworm and tickborne disease screening, fecal testing, and many others. This ability helps us to keep costs down, diagnose faster and treat immediately. If there is testing that cannot be done in our lab, we courier any samples to a specialty veterinary laboratory to get you the results you need to diagnose and treat your pet.
X-rays can show us what we can’t see on physical exam; the inside of the body. X-rays (radiographs) are used to diagnose broken bones, orthopedic issues, heart disease, certain cancers, asthma, bladder stones, obstructions, and assess organ size. We have a digital x-ray machine, allowing us to assess the images of your pet right away, expediting a treatment plan. If warranted, we also work with board-certified veterinary radiologists to provide an expert set of eyes when interpreting your pet's xrays.
Ultrasound technology goes a step beyond x-rays using the technology of sound to create an image of internal organs. We have an ultrasound unit to perform quick diagnostics to screen for bladder disorders, fluid in the abdomen, etc. We also work with a mobile ultrasound team, who will come to our hospital to perform abdominal ultrasounds as well as echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds). The images they take are sent to a board-certified veterinary radiologist for interpretation, who then sends us a report with their findings and recommendations. This allows us to continue managing many complicated cardiac or internal medicine cases within our hospital, keeping your pet under the care of the doctor who you know and trust.
